What We Do
BlueBin Consulting divides assignments into two basic kinds:
- Finding Solutions: These are fixed term and fixed cost assignments. We deliver:
- A report detailing findings
- A range of alternative solutions, each with a cost-benefit analysis
- Implementing Solutions: Once you are ready to implement a solution presented to you,
you have the choice to do this using BlueBin's expertise and resources.
Wherever possible, we offer a fixed price assignment for implementation. Change is a fact of life that can affect the scope of the solution and hence alter costs and benefits. BlueBin's change
management processes and progress reporting minimise the risks of change and keep stakeholders informed.
How We Do It
At BlueBin, we focus on three distinct but interrelated areas - people,  process  and productivity.
People:
Most people want to do a good job. So why don't they?
- They don't know what they're meant to do
- They don't know how it affects the organisation overall
- They don't have the right tools (technology, authority, information, training, etc) to do their job well
- They don't communicate effectively within the business or with external stakeholders
| BlueBin ingredients to reduce people waste:
- Relevant KPIs, with an explanation of why they're relevant
- Clear processes, authority levels and guidelines
- Easy access to information and systems
|
Process:
All businesses have processes. Not all businesses have consistent processes. Not all businesses have effective processes. Not all businesses know what their current processes are. Without clear, consistent, effective processes:
- People don't know what to do to achieve their goal
- People don't understand how they contribute to the business overall
- It's hard to identify constraints on throughput
- It's nearly impossible to see how processes can be improved
- It's hard to identify all potential impacts of any change in processes
| BlueBin ingredients to reduce process waste:
- Clear, documented processes
- Input from everyone on issues with current processes
- Input from everyone on risks and opportunities of process change
|
Productivity:
There are countless applications and technologies on the market which promise increased productivity. Most of the time, they don't deliver. But they're not usually bad tools - more likely:
- They're the wrong tools for the job
- The people doing the job haven't been trained on how to use the tool
- The people are trying to use the tool to do the wrong job
| BlueBin ingredients to get maximum productivity include:
- Realistic, practical assessment - by the potential users - of any tool before it is implemented
- Everything we said above about people and process
